My 755 steering column cover rattles loudly at an idle, (of course the whole tractor vibrates a lot at idle) the noise drives me nuts, I usually up the idle till it stops,anybody fixed this? I purchased the tractor has aprox 1100 hours, can the bearing really be worn out? or is this normal slop?

What speed does your engine idle at? If it is idling too slow, it will vibrate excessively. If memory serves me correctly, I think it should idle around 1400 rpm. The steering column should't have much "slop" in it but there is a bearing kit available to repair it. AM107081 ....

I think the engine rpm matches the natural frequency of the steering wheel, the wheel starts to resonate at low to idle rpms. I just bump up the idle a bit and it stops on my 755. It's been happening since I bought it at 300 hrs. ....
